Scotscape
A new brand identity and sub-brands for an ambitious urban greening group.
Increased sales by 30% year on year (2018/19) with sales forecast for 2020 up another 55% since the rebrand. Internally, the three business divisions are working better together, with an increase in referred business and a stronger team ethos.
Designhouse was commissioned to develop a new identity with global appeal for award-winning urban landscapers, Scotscape.
As specialist horticulturalists, Scotscape combat air pollution in cities with innovative living planted walls and urban landscaping schemes. They bring nature into the working environment via vertical wall and ceiling plant installations, encouraging wellbeing and better productivity in the workplace.
With a growing international client portfolio, Scotscape needed a new look and feel that highlighted their expertise in designing and maintaining living walls, and also demonstrated their considerable experience and capability in landscaping and ground maintenance.
The new identity is based around the opening, overlapping petals of a flower, which form a globe, reflecting the company’s international ambitions. A vibrant green is used for the master logo, locking the company into the horticultural sector and referencing nature and life.
The personalities of each are reflected in the colour treatment of their logo: Smartscape – scientific intelligence; Landscape – energy and quality; and Groundscape – growth, warmth and positivity
Overlapping leaves are used as a graphic device to root the brand in nature. A secondary theme overlays geometric patterns based on plant cells, leaf veins and water molecules evoking further references to horticulture.
The new identity has been applied to a new website, stationery, social media, presentation templates and a suite of marketing materials.
